Ingredients

 Corned beef brisket4 Pound
 Onion soup mix 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Peppercorns4
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
 Bay Leaf1
 Rosemary1/4 Teaspoon, crushed
 Water3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Potatoes6 Medium, quartered
 6 medium sized carrots, pared and cut in 1 1/2 in. pieces
 16 cup celery, cut in 1 in. pieces
 1 medium sized head young green cabbage, cut in wedges

Directions

Put meat into a deep saucepot or Dutch oven having a tight-fitting cover.
Add soup mix, peppercorns, garlic, bay leaf, rosemary, and water.
Cover, bring to boiling, and simmer 3 1/2 hours.
Add vegetables, placing cabbage on top of meat.
Cover and cook 1 hour, or until tender.
Remove vegetables and meat to a large heated serving platter.
If desired, thicken liquid in sauce pot and serve in a gravy boat.
