Boiled Collard Or Turnip Greens Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 ham hock or ham bone | ||
| Water | 2 Quart | |
| 3 large heads collard or | ||
| 1 medium bunch turnip greens | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1/3 cup bacon drippings | ||
Directions
Put ham hock or ham bone in water to boil in a heavy 4 quart pot; boil about 30 minutes.
Add greens to pot with salt, sugar and bacon drippings; boil 45 minutes.
Remove bones and excess liquid.
Cut up greens into bite size pieces.
