Boiled Pickled Tongue Recipe
Ingredients
| Pickled tongue - 4-3-pound, washed | ||
| Onion | 1 | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm) | |
| Bay leaves | 2 | |
Directions
MAKING
1) Take a deep kettle and combine together garlic, onion, tongue and bay leaves in it. Cover the mixture with water.
2) Bring the mixture to a boil. Thereafter, cook over medium heat for about 3 1/2 hours or until tender.
3) Keep adding boiling water, as per requirement, during cooking.
4) Allow the tongue to cool while still in the stock.
5) Remove the skin and root.
6) Reserve 2 cups stock if you wish to prepare sauce.
SERVING
7) Remove bay leaves. Slice the tongue and serve with sauce, if desired.
