Ingredients

 
Collar of bacon 1.1Kg
 
Apple juice 550ml
 
Onion, sliced 1
 
Black pepper, freshly ground to taste
 
Cornflour 30ml

Directions

Place bacon in a large saucepan and cover with cold water.
Bring to the boil slowly, lift out and place in Slo cooker.
Discard the water.
Add the apple juice and onion to the pan and bring to the boil.
Pour over the bacon and season with pepper.
Cook for the recommended time.
Remove bacon and place on a serving dish, keep warm.
Place the cornflour in a small pan and blend with a little cold water.
Gradually stir in the apple juice.
Bring to the boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
