Blushing Apples Recipe

Blushing apples is a cooked apple dessert made with red apples and cream and sugar mix. Flavored with lemon and orange rind and juice, the blushing apples are made with the red pulp peeled and pasted on the sides of the slices to decorate them.

Ingredients

 Red apples- 6
 Sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Orange1
 Water1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Lemon juice1
 Whipped cream- as required

Directions

GETTING READY
1.Start by washing and coring the apples
MAKING
2.In a pot, cook the apples until they are tender, cook then in syrup made of the sugar and water, turning so that they will cook evenly
3.Carefully remove the skin, scraping the red pulp from it and pasting it back on the sides of the apple
4.Put the apples in a serving dish
5.Boil the syrup down to one cup and add the grated rind and the juice of one orange, the juice of one lemon, and, if desired, nuts, candied orange peel or raisins
6.Pour syrup over the apples
