Blue Claw Crab with Spaghetti Recipe Video
Step by step demonstration of making blue claw crabs with spaghetti
Ingredients
| Basil | 1 Tablespoon, finely chopped | |
| Parsley | 1 Tablespoon, finely chopped | |
| Oregano | 1 Tablespoon, finely chopped | |
| Garlic | 2 Tablespoon, minced | |
| Onion | 1 Large, finely chopped | |
| Olive oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Tomato paste | 1 Can (10 oz) | |
| Pepper | 2 Small | |
| Can of crushed tomato | 1 Large | |
| Bay leaf | 1 Medium | |
| Chopped carrot | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Chopped celery | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Nutmeg powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Blue crab | 4 Medium | |
| Thin spaghetti | 1 Pound |
Directions
GETTING READY
1.In a large stock pot, pour in about 2 cups of water.
2.Add the crabs in it. Cover and cook.
3.Remove the crabs and place in a container. Break away the shells and give it a rinse and separate the claws.
4.Cook the pasta as per the directions on the package.
MAKING
5.Heat a large sauce pan, and pour in the olive oil.
6.Add the chopped onions and garlic to it and gently sauté it until the onions become translucent.
7.Add the contents of the can of tomato paste.
8.Cook the paste for several minutes with the onions.
9.Use the same can of tomato paste, fill it with water and drop it in the pan. Give it a stir.
10.Add the chopped carrots and celery.
11.Drop the finely chopped basil, oregano, parsley and the bay leaf. Let it simmer for ½ hour.
12.Sprinkle in the nutmeg.
13.Add the crabs to the sauce.
14.Plate the cooked thin spaghetti.
15.Ladle in the sauce along with the crab pieces on top.
SERVING
16.Sprinkle in chopped parsley for garnish and serve.
