 Ground chuck2 Pound
 Garlic2 Clove (5gm), minced
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Black pepper1/2 Teaspoon
 Blue cheese4 Ounce
 Walnuts1/3 Cup (16 tbs), coarsely chopped
 1 torpedo (long) red onion or 2 small red onions, sliced into 3/8-inch-thick rounds
 2 baguettes (each 12 inches long)
 Olive or vegetable oil

Directions

Combine beef, garlic, salt and pepper in a medium bowl.
Shape meat mixture into 12 oval patties.
Mash cheese and blend with walnuts in a small bowl.
Divide cheese mixture equally; place onto centers of 6 meat patties.
Top with remaining meat patties; tightly pinch edges together to seal.
Oil hot grid to help prevent sticking.
Grill patties and onions, if desired, on a covered grill, over medium Kingsford briquets, 7 to 12 minutes for medium doneness, turning once.
Cut baguettes into 4-inch lengths; split each piece and brush cut side with olive oil.
Move cooked burgers to edge of grill to keep warm.
Grill bread, oil side down, until lightly toasted.
Serve burgers on toasted baguettes.
