Blitz Kuchen Coffee Cake Recipe
Ingredients
l 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter
3 eggs, separated
3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Cinnamon and sugar
1/2 cup almonds, grated (optional)
Directions
Cream sugar and 1/3 cup butter.
Add well-beaten egg yolks.
Add milk and dry ingredients alternately.
Fold in beaten egg whites.
Place in greased and ffoured 13x9x2 5/8-inch pan.
Melt remaining butter, and pour over top of batter.
Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and almonds.
Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.
