Main IngredientMeat
Ingredients
Needed:
4 Steaks (Rib eye, NY Strip, etc.)
3Tbsp oil or butter
12" Cast iron Skillet
4Tbsp Black Pepper
3Tbsp White Pepper
2Tbsp Ground Cayenne Pepper
1Tbsp Garlic Powder
1Tsp Coriander seed
1Tsp Rosemary
1tsp Ancho Chili Powder
1tsp Chili powder
Directions
Preperation:
Mix all of the seasonings together in a spice bottle or bowl.
Turn Heat to High and add the oil or butter to the skillet.
Sprinkle the mixed seasonings on one side of the steak and rub it in until you have a thick crust of seasoning. Turn the steak over and repeat.
Once you start to see smoke rising from the skillet, place the steak in the skillet.(This Method of cooking causes intense smoke so turn your vent on)
I like my steaks medium rare which will be about 2-3 minutes each side at this temp.
Once the steak is done you should have a nice blackened crust on each side of the steak.
I like to serve this with some red beans and rice and some collards on the side. traditional southern cookin. mmmm
WARNING: Once you throw these suckers in the skillet it will produce an immense amount of smoke so turn on the vent hood or get smoked out ;)
