Recipe Story

When I make a blackberry tart for my mom,I substitute sugar with low sugar & it tastes just the same.Try to use fresh blackberries instead of canned ones because the fresh ones tastes better.

Ingredients

TART SHELLS:

3 c. flour

1 tsp. salt

1 c. shortening

7-8 tbsp. water

BLACKBERRY TARTS

4 c. blackberries (or dewberries)

Low Sugar to taste.

Directions

Mix low sugar with berries, crush berries while mixing it & keep it aside to be used later.Meanwhile, preheat the oven at 350 degrees.

Mix salt in flour, add shortening, keep adding a tablespoon of water one at a time.Use a fork here to mix the flour.Once the flour dough becomes stiff, shape out small balls with the dough.Fit these balls in the muffin pan to make tart.Fill this with the sugar coated berries that you had kept aside.Bake for 30 mintues or till the time dough is baked & ready to eat.
Chill it for half an hour before you serve them.
