Not Chinese, as Chinese use sweet bean soups for desserts, fruit, and some agar-agar type dishes. This type of dessert noodle is more European. It is very popular in Eastern Europe and often includes sour cream and noodles with fruits. This is a Kugle recipe which is originally from Germany and is a very popular Jewish dish. It can be both savoury or sweet. It is a baked casserole. Most sweet Kugels are served cold or at room temperature. They are popularily served during Ashkenazi Jewish holidays. In Poland sprinkled raisins, cinnamon and sweet farmer's cheese (similiar to cottage cheese) are used, whereas in Hungary Sour Cream is typical. I think this is a Hungarian Jewish recipe.
