Valentine's Day Blackberry Crisp Recipe Video

You may notice this video recipe looks and sounds a bit different. That's because it's not produced for About.com! I just felt like filming a dessert recipe, and uploading it to YouTube, just like the good old days (and by "good old days" I mean the days before I ran out of money filming free video recipes). This very simple, and quite old fashion berry crisp recipe, is perfect for those of you looking for a sexy, non-chocolate, Valentine dessert. Any berry will work in this (even frozen if you must), but the dark, sweet blackberries are my favorite. Served barely warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it just doesn't get much better than this. And, because there is some oatmeal mixed in with all the butter and sugar, it's practically health food. By the way, it will also give you a second reason to put on a pot of coffee after your Valentines meal. Enjoy!

Quick cooking rolled oats - 3/4 cup

Salt - a pinch

Directions

GETTING READY
1) Preheat oven to temperature of 375 degrees.

MAKING
2) To make the base of the crisp, put the berries in a large mixing bowl and add the lemon juice. Sprinkle the sugar all over the berries and mix well with the help of a spatula.
3) In a lightly buttered casserole, put the prepared berries. Pat the fruit down.
4) To make the top, add the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, rolled oats and butter in a large mixing bowl. Use a fork to mix all the ingredients together.
5) Put the topping over the berries and cover all the fruit.
6) Bake the crumble in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.

SERVING
7) Let the crisp cool down and serve as a dessert. Vanilla ice cream is an excellent accompaniment.

I finally found it. I guess it took writing in and clicking on NEXT recipe for it to come up. This web site is confusing.

Absolutely fantastic. If it was polite, we would have licked our plates. Thank you. It reminded me of my mom's crisps that she used to make.
