Ingredients
8 oz short crust pastry
1 lb cooking apples
1 box blackberries
2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional
Confectioners' sugar for sprinkling
Directions
Roll out half the pastry into a round and line an 8-9 inch pie plate.
Peel, core and slice the apples.
Pick the blackberries clean.
Place apple and blackberries into pie plate, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, if desired.
Brush edge of pastry with cold water.
Roll out remaining pastry to a round, to fit pie plate and place on top of fruit.
Seal edges, trim neatly, and decorate edge.
Make a neat hole in the centre of pastry with a skewer to allow steam to escape.
Sprinkle pastry with a little sugar and bake in upper third of a hot oven for 30-40 minutes, until pastry is cooked and golden brown.
