Black Walnut Fudge Recipe

Ingredients
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
1/2 c. butter
Vanilla to taste
3/4 c. chopped black walnuts
Directions
Mix buttermilk and baking powder together; set aside.
Mix sugar and syrup together in large sauce- pan.
Add buttermilk mixture to sugar mixture.
Cook for about 25 minutes or until mixture forms hard ball in cold water.
Remove from heat; let stand sev- eral minutes.
Add butter, vanilla and walnuts; beat until thickened and no longer glossy.
Pour onto but- tered platter.
Cool; cut into squares.
