Vegan Black Velvet Cake Recipe
Sweet and tangy, this wonderful black velvet cake can add life to special days. A quick and easy recipe for a complete dessert delight!
Ingredients
Flour – 2 2/3 cups
Soda Bi-carb - teaspoons
Castor sugar - 1 1/3 cups
Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
Cocoa - 6 tablespoons
Baking powder- 2 teaspoons
Vinegar - 2 tablespoons
Vanilla – 1 teaspoon
Oil - 2/3-cup
Cold water - 2 cups
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F
2. Grease two 1 1/2 inch deep, 8-inch cake tins with oil.
MAKING
3. Sift dry ingredients together.
4. Beat oil, vinegar, vanilla and water together.
5. Then gradually add to dry ingredients.
6. Mix well and then beat for one minute.
7. Pour the batter equally into the two greased tins
8. Bake on middle level of hot oven, until spongy to touch, about 30 to 45 minutes.
SERVING
9. Serve warm topped with a chocolate glaze if you like.
TIP
This mixture can also be used for either large or small flan cases.
