Black And White Cheesecake Recipe
Ingredients
CRUST:
4 ounces semisweet chocolate
1 cup chopped toasted almonds
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
FILLING:
6 ounce package semisweet
3 eggs
chocolate pieces
2 cups sour cream
1 1/2 pounds cream cheese, at room
1 teaspoon vanilla extract temperature
1 cup sugar
Shaved chocolate for decoration, optional
Directions
TO MAKE CRUST: Melt chocolate and butter over hot water or very carefully over direct heat.
Stir in almonds'and extract.
Chill until thick enough to spread in 9 inch springform pan.
Chill.
TO MAKE FILLING: Melt chocolate over hot water or carefully over very low heat.
In large bowl beat cream cheese with sugar until fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add sour cream and vanilla and beat.
Combine melted chocolate with 1/2 cup of batter.
Spoon half of the plain cheese mixture into prepared springform.
Add spoons of half of the chocolate batter; then add remaining plain batter and finally spoons of the remaining chocolate batter.
With a knife draw lines through chocolate into plain batter to marbleize.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 to 20 minutes.
Cool.
Then chill for several hours or overnight.
NOTE TO COOK: Carry to party in springform pan.
Carry a piece of semisweet chocolate in plastic bag for shavings.
To serve, remove band from springform and decorate top of cake with shavings.
Place on serving tray.
