Bite A Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
| Dinner rolls package | 2 , refrigerated | |
| 1 teaspoon each salt and vinegar | ||
| Few drops of hot pepper sauce | ||
| 1 1/2 pounds bulk sausage, sweet or hot | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| 1 jar pizza sauce | ||
| Dried oregano | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Plum tomatoes | 1 Can (10oz), chopped | |
| Sharp cheddar cheese | 1 pound, shredded | |
Directions
Separate rolls into fourths; arrange on ungreased cookie sheets.
Prick each several times with fork.
Bake in 300 degree oven 10 minutes, until slightly browned.
Fry sausage in skillet until it crumbles and just begins to brown, while still moist remove from skillet and drain on paper.
In saucepan heat pizza sauce, tomatoes, salt, sugar, hot sauce, garlic and oregano; simmer 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and cool by setting pan over bowl of cold water.
On each biscuit piece, place a teaspoonful of sauce, another of sausage, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
Freeze until needed or bake at once in 375°F oven 10 minutes.
Topping may be changed to include mushrooms, green and red peppers, olives, anchovies, etc.
This recipe makes 96 small pizza pies for appetizers, snacks, impromptu suppers.
