Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, and baking powder. Stir with a wooden spoon to mix. Make a well in center.
2. In a small bowl, beat eggs just enough to combine. Stir in milk and vanilla. Pour milk mixture into well in center of flour. Beat with wooden spoon until a soft dough forms. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rest 15 minutes.
3. Divide dough into five pieces. On a floured work surface, roll each piece into 1/2-inch-thick rope. Cut into 3-inch lengths and tie each into a loose knot. Place on a baking sheet and bake 12 to 15 minutes, until dry and still pale in color. Partially cool cookies.
