Bing Cherry Mold Recipe

Ingredients
2 3-ounce packages cherry or black cherry flavored gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 cup cold water
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons cooking sherry
1 cup dairy sour cream
2 cups pitted, halved fresh Bing cherries
1/4 cup chopped blanched almonds, toasted
Directions
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water; add cold water and lemon juice.
To 1 cup gelatin mixture add the cooking sherry; pour into a 2 quart mold and chill till set.
Meanwhile, chill remaining gelatin till partially set, then whip till fluffy; fold in sour cream, cherries, and almonds.
Pour atop gelatin layer in mold.
Chill till firm, about 5 hours or overnight.
Unmold on chilled platter.
Circle with fresh Bings, sliced pineapple, romaine.
Pass bowl of sour cream mixed with mayonnaise and sprinkled with toasted almonds.
