Bigos Recipe

Ingredients
1/4 Ib. lean smoked bacon
1 Ib. pork
3 onions, coarsely chopped
1/4 Ib. garlic sausage, sliced
1 3/4 Ibs. cabbage, coarsely shredded
1/4 Ib. mushrooms, sliced
1 small can tomato puree
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon cumin seed
2 teaspoons paprika
Marjoram
Salt
1 bay leaf
2 cups white wine
Directions
Dice bacon and pork; brown well in large skillet along with the onion.
Add sliced sausage, shredded cabbage, mushrooms, tomato puree, crushed garlic, and seasonings.
Turn mixture into a large casserole; add white wine, and just enough water to cover all ingredients.
Cover casserole tightly; cook without stirring in a moderate oven (350° F or 180° C), about 1 1/2 hours, or until done.
Add sliced sausage, shredded cabbage, mushrooms, tomato puree, crushed garlic, and seasonings.
Turn mixture into a large casserole; add white wine, and just enough water to cover all ingredients.
