Betty'S Baked Beans Recipe
This baked beans recipe is a specially prepared navy beans recipe that is often cooked in our family. The cooked beans are flavored with mustard, brown sugar, onions and seasonings and added bacon. Slow baked, the baked beans may be served as a side.
Ingredients
| 3 cups cooked navy beans | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Brown sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Onions | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Dry mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1 | |
| Tomato juice | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Bacon | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Put the cooked beans in a large casserole or a bean pot (preferably), add mustard, salt, pepper, brown sugar, tomato juice, onions and bacon.
Cover and bake slowly in a 300 F.
Oven for at least 1 1/2 hours.
If they look dry, add a little more hot water.
Keep moist all through the cooking.
