Beet Apple Relish Recipe
Ingredients
| 3 pounds beets, cooked, peeled, and cut up | ||
| Apples | 6 Large, quartered | |
| 2 large onions, cut up | ||
| Cinnamon stick | 4 Inch, broken | |
| Sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vinegar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Put beets, apples, and onions through a food grinder, using coarse blade.
In large kettle or Dutch oven combine ground mixture, cinnamon, sugar, vinegar, water, and salt.
Bring to boiling; reduce heat.
Cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring often.
Remove cinnamon.
Ladle hot relish into hot, clean half-pint jars, leaving 1/2 inch headspace.
Prepare lids according to manufacturer's directions.
Wipe jar rim.
Adjust lid on jar.
Process jars in boiling water bath for 15 minutes.(Start timing when water returns to boiling.)
