 Olive oil1 Tablespoon
 Mushrooms2 Cup (16 tbs), sliced
 Green bell pepper1 To taste, cut into thin strips
 1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
 1 large clove garlic, minced
 1 tsp dried basil or oregano
 Red pepper flakes1/4 Teaspoon
 1 1/2 cups thinly sliced cooked flank steak or 6 oz deli roast beef, cut into strips
 3/4 cup pizza sauce or tomato pasta sauce
 4 crusty rolls (8-inch [20 cm] length)
 6 oz thinly sliced mild provolone or mozzarella cheese
 Salt To Taste
 Pepper To Taste

Directions

1. In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms, green pepper, onion, garlic, basil and red pepper flakes; cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until softened. Stir in beef and pizza sauce; cook until heated through. Remove from heat; season with salt and pepper to taste.
2. Cut rolls along 1 side and open; layer with cheese slices. Place on baking sheet under preheated broiler for 1 minute or until cheese melts. Watch carefully. Spoon beef mixture into rolls.
