Ingredients

 Shortening2 Tablespoon
 Soy sauce1 Teaspoon
 Sugar1/2 Teaspoon
 Sherry2 Teaspoon
 Onions3 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced
 Cornstarch2 Teaspoon
 Soy sauce1 Tablespoon
 1 1/2 pounds beef round, cut into 1-inch pieces
 Worcestershire sauce1 Tablespoon
 Garlic salt1 Teaspoon
 Mushrooms1 Can (10oz)

Directions

Heat shortening in large skillet with 1 teaspoon soy sauce, sugar, and 1 teaspoon sherry.
Saute onions in this.
Mix cornstarch, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon sherry in a bowl.
Dredge meat in this mixture, coating every piece.
Put dredged meat in onion mixture, brown it.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt.
Cover skillet, let simmer for 1 hour.
