Beef Kebabs Recipe
Yummy Beef Kebabs are a treat that are perfect for your dinner spread. I prepare this dish whenever I need to cook up a tasty and tempting dish for my party! Try this amazing Beef Kebabs recipe.
Ingredients
225 g (1/2 Ib) beef fillet
2 medium onions, quartered
1 green pepper, cut into pieces
4 rashers (slices) streaky bacon
6 mushrooms
6 bay leaves, imported
30 ml (2 tablespoons) oil
salt and pepper
175 g (6 oz) rice pilaff
For the Marinade:
150 ml 1/4 pint) (5/8 cup) dry sherry
5 ml (1 teaspoon) vinegar
5 ml (1 teaspoon) Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed
15 ml (1 tablespoon) oil
5 g (1 teaspoon) sugar
Directions
1 Cut the beef into cubes.
2 Make the marinade from the sherry, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, oil and sugar.
Marinate the beef for 1/2 hour.
3 Meanwhile, scald the onions and green pepper for 3 minutes.
4 Remove the beef and dry on absorbent paper.
Impale the beef on the skewers with rolls of bacon, pieces of green pepper, mushrooms and bay leaves in turn.
5 Place on a baking tray (cookie sheet), brush with 30 ml (2 Table spoons) of oil and season'with salt and pepper.
6 Grill (broil) for 4 minutes on either side, or more depending on the meat.
Baste with theremaining marinade.
7 Meanwhile, prepare the rice pilaff as given in the preceding recipe for Sausage Kebab.
8 To serve, arrange the kebabs on the rice on a flat dish.
Tip: Another way of using onions for a kebab is to cut them in half and open up the leaves of the onion.
Use each leaf raw curved round a piece of meat on the skewer, in place of the scalded quarters as shown in the photograph.
