 Ground beef1 pound
 Onion1/3 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
 Catsup1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Salt3/4 Teaspoon
 1 10-ounce package corn bread mix
 American Cheese1/2 Cup (16 tbs), shredded
 Cold water2 Tablespoon
 Cornstarch2 Teaspoon
 Tomatoes1 Ounce
 2 tablespoons chopped seeded canned green chili peppers
 Green pepper2 Tablespoon, chopped
 Worcestershire sauce1 Teaspoon

Directions

In skillet cook beef, onion, and garlic till meat is brown; drain off fat.
Stir in catsup and salt; set aside.
In bowl prepare corn bread mix according to package directions.
Spread half of the batter in a greased 8x8x2-inch baking pan.
Spoon beef mixture over batter in pan; sprinkle with cheese.
Spread remaining batter over cheese.
Bake, uncovered, at 350° till corn bread is done, 30 to 35 minutes.
Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
Meanwhile, in small saucepan blend cold water with cornstarch.
Stir in the undrained tomatoes, chili peppers, green pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
Cut corn bread in squares; serve sauce over.
