Beef With Raisin Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
1 lb. round steak, 2" thick
2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. salt
Pinch of marjoram
2 to 3 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. butter 1/3 cup raisins
2 small tomatoes, skinned, chopped, and well drained

Directions
Make small, deep incisions in the meat, using a sharp knife; stuff with slices of garlic.
Brown meat in oil in heavy skillet.
Add salt, marjoram, and water.
Cover tightly; simmer 1 hr., or until tender.
If liquid cooks away, more may be added to prevent scorching.
Meanwhile, melt butter in small skillet.
Add raisins; saute 10 min.
Add tomatoes and heat through.
Place steak on heated platter.
Add raisin sauce to drippings in meat skillet; blend together.
Pour over steak; garnish with chilies.
