Simple Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Ingredients
1-1 1/2 pounds beef tenderloin
1-2 onions
8-10 medium-sized mushrooms
4-5 tablespoons butter
1 cup sour cream
A grating nutmeg
Salt
Pepper
Directions
1. Cut beef tenderloin into strips about 2 1/2 inches long and 1/2 inch thick. Slice the onions and mushrooms finely. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a frying pan and cook the onions slowly until they are golden brown. Remove from pan and keep warm. Add a little more butter. Cook the mushrooms for about 5 minutes and add them to the onions.
2. Melt the remaining butter. When foaming put in about half the strips of steak and fry quickly for about 5 minutes, until they are brown on all sides. Remove and repeat with the remaining steak.
3. Replace all meat and vegetables in the pan; shake over heat, adding salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Lastly, add the sour cream, heat until it nearly boils
