BEEF STROGANOFF Recipe Video

Ingredients

 
1 tbsp olive oil
 
3 lbs beef chunks (meatballs if desired)
 
2 c onions, diced
 
2 c mushrooms, quartered
 
1/2 c flour
 
1 tbsp garlic, chopped
 
1/2 c tomato puree
 
1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
 
2 tbsp brown sugar
 
1 c chardnonay
 
3 c beef stock
 
1/4 tsp salt
 
1/2 tsp black pepper
 
1/3 c sour cream
 
Hot sauce to taste
 
Fresh chives chopped

Directions

1. Heat dutch oven, add oil and beef cubes. Cook until brown.
2. Add onions and saute until golden brown.
3. Add mushrooms and cook until they release liquid.
4. Sprinkle flour on mushrooms and add garlic.
5. Add remaining ingredients except for sour cream.
6. add beef to the pot and bring to boil. Simmer for about 1 1/2 hours until beef is tender.
7. Add sour cream and hot sauce. Add this mixture to the beef just before serving.
8. Garnish with chives.
