Beef Ribs With Mustard Recipe
Ingredients
2 lbs (900 g) beef ribs
3 tbsp (45 ml) flour
1 tbsp (15 ml) dry mustard
2 tbsp (30ml)oil
1 bay leaf
Pinch of thyme
Salt and pepper
1 Cup (250 ml) hot water
1/2 Cup (125 ml) red wine
2 tbsp (30 ml) "old-fashioned" prepared mustard
Directions
– Dredge each beef rib with mixture of flour and dry mustard.
– In a heavy skillet, heat oil and cook beef ribs a few at a time.
– Place beef ribs in a stove-top casserole dish and season with bay leaf, thyme, salt and pepper.
– Pour hot water, wine and "old-fashioned" mustard over beef rib mixture and simmer for 1 hour over low heat, half covered, stirring from time to time.
