Directions

MAKING
1. In a pan, fry coconut until brown. Set aside.
2. In a blender, combine ginger, galangal, chillies, onion, garlic and lemon grass.
3. In a pan, heat oil and add spice paste, cloves, cardamom, star anise and cinnamon stick. Gently fry for few minutes.
4. Add the beef, tamarind, and lemon grass, lime leaves. Fry together until the beef turns brown.
5. Add coconut the coconut milk.
6. Let it simmer for an hour.
7. Add toasted coconut, sugar and soy sauce and stir.

SERVING
8. Serve with steamed hot rice.
