1 pound beef round steak
 
Salt and pepper
 
Liquid smoke

Directions

Partially freeze meat; trim and cut into 1/4 inch strips.
Arrange strips in bowl in 1/2 -inch-thick layer.
Sprinkle lightly with salt, pepper, and liquid smoke.
Repeat layers.
Place a plate atop meat in bowl.
Weight plate down with several cans.
Chill overnight.
Drain meat and pat dry.
Arrange on paper toweling in microwave oven.
Heat at MEDIUM LOW (3) for 30 minutes, turning pieces over occasionally to dry evenly.
Replace toweling once or twice during hearing.
