Beef In Beer Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 onions, peeled and diced | ||
| 2 carrots, peeled and sliced | ||
| Mushrooms | 2 Ounce, washed | |
| Oil | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Steak | 1 Pound | |
| Flour | 1 Tablespoon, seasoned | |
| Tomato puree | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Beer | 1/4 Pint | |
| Ground black pepper | 1 To taste | |
| Thyme | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Triangles of toast | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
Sweat the vegetables in 2 x 15 ml spoons (2 tablespoons) oil for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and place into a casserole.
Toss the meat in the flour and fry until brown over a brisk heat, adding the remaining oil.
Place on top of the vegetables, pour over the tomato puree mixed with the beer, seasoning and herbs.
Cook, covered, in the oven for 1 1/2 hours.
Remove the bay leaf, taste and adjust the seasoning.
Garnish with triangles of toast.
