Beef Goulash Recipe
This Hungarian soup, beef goulash, is my dad's favorite. I prepare this Beef Goulash specially for him when he comes over my place. You will literally lick the bowl clean!
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds beef, cubed
3 tablespoons oil
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 small onion, chopped
1 can tomato soup
1/4 cup water
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 pint dairy sour cream
Directions
Heat oil in a skillet and brown, meat on all sides.
Spoon meat into crock cooker, and saute mushrooms and onion a few minutes.
Remove pan from heat.
Add all remaining ingredients except sour cream to onions, and stir to blend.
Pour mixture over meat and stir together.
Cover and cook for 7 to 9 hours.
At serving time, stir a few tablespoons of the cooking juices with sour cream, then stir this cream mixture into the meat.
Check seasoning for salt.
