| Beef | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Green pepper | 1/2 To taste | |
| 1/4 carrot, parboiled, cut in 1/2 inch (1 cm) dice | ||
| 1/4 cup (60 mL) unsweetened pineapple pieces | ||
| Pickles | 1/4 Pound, diced | |
Directions
1 Combine diced beef with soy sauce and five-spice powder and marinate 15 minutes. Heat a non-stick pan, add one-quarter of the beef and stir-fry 3—4 minutes. Remove from pan. Repeat with remaining beef. Set aside and keep warm.
2 Bring pineapple juice, sugar and vinegar to a boil. Blend cornstarch, sherry and stock to a paste. Stir into pineapple juice to thicken. Add vegetables, pineapple and pickles, simmer 3 minutes. Add diced beef to heat through. Serve at once.
