Beef Dill Birds Recipe
|Round steak||2 Pound, cut 1/2 inch thick|
|Flour||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Dill pickles||3 Medium, cut lengthwise|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Bacon slices||3 , cut into half|
|Liquid from dill pickles||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|

Combine salt, pepper, and flour, and pound into steak until it is 1/4 inch thick.
Place 1/2 slice of bacon on each piece.
Roll beef and bacon around pickle slice.
Fasten with toothpicks.
Brown rolls in fat in a large skillet.
Pour off fat.
Add water, liquid from pickles and bay leaf.
Cover tightly and cook slowly 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
Should liquid mixture cook out, add another 1/4 cup of water and 1/4 cup of liquid from dill pickles.
Remove rolls from pan to heated serving platter.
Spoon any liquid left in pan over the rolls.
