Ingredients
| Butter | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Beef tenderloin | 1 pound, cut into strips | |
| Medium onion - 1, chopped | ||
| Celery | 2 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | 1 | |
| Water - 1 1/2 cups, hot | ||
| Mushrooms | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), canned | |
| La Choy's bean sprouts - 1 can, drained | ||
| Water | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Cornstarch | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Soy sauce | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| La Choy's brown gravy sauce - 1 tablespoon, if chop suey is desired | ||
Directions
MAKING
1) In a heavy skillet, melt butter.
2) To the hot butter, add meat and onion.
3) Over high heat, cook for 5 minutes.
4) Gradually, add celery, salt, pepper and hot water.
5) Cover the dish and cook for 5 minutes.
6) Now, add mushrooms and bean sprouts and heat well.
7) Add cold 1 more minute, mixing lightly.
SERVING
8) Serve the gravy over hot cooked rice for chop suey, or over Chinese noodles for chow mein. You can serve additional soy sauce individually.
TIPS
If you require chopsuey, add brown gravy sauce to the cornstarch mixture.
