Beef Buns Recipe
Ingredients
| 3 tablespoons chopped onion Shortening | ||
| Ground beef | 1 pound | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Tomato sauce | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Catsup | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Chili powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Brown sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Dry mustard | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Lemon juice | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Cornstarch | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Celery | 1 Cup(16 tbs), diced | |
Directions
In a heavy skillet, saute the chopped onion in a little shortening; add the ground beef and brown evenly, stirring occasionally to separate.
When it is about half done, sprinkle with the salt and continue cooking.
Blend together the tomato sauce, catsup, chili powder, brown sugar, dry mustard, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
Stir into meat mixture and add the diced celery.
Simmer about 10 minutes.
When ready to serve, heat slowly before dipping large spoonfuls over heated, split buns.
