Bechamel Sauce Recipe

I have to admit this recipe of Bechamel Sauce is on my favorite list. A delicious Side Dish, the Bechamel Sauce completes your meal. In my opinion, if one is a chef, one ought to have a personal recipe of Bechamel Sauce, just like I do.

Ingredients

 
2 tablespoons butter
 
3 tablespoons flour
 
1 1/2 cups hot milk, beef broth, or chicken broth
 
Salt and pepper to taste
 
1/2 cup whipping cream

Directions

Melt butter over medium heat; stir in flour.
Using a whisk, stir rapidly until smooth.
Gradually add milk or other liquid, stirring constantly.
Bring sauce to a rapid boil and boil 4 minutes, or until sauce is thick and reduced to half its original volume.
Season with salt and pepper.
Reduce heat and stir in cream.
Heat thoroughly, but do not boil.
