Ingredients

 Beans2 Cup (16 tbs), dried
 Ham bone - 1 or 1 1/2 lb. ham butt
 Onion1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Celery leaves1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Canned tomatoes - 1 quarter
 Potatoes3/4 Cup (16 tbs), diced
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Pepper1/8 Teaspoon

Directions

GETTING READY
1. Wash the beans.

MAKING
2. In a saucepan add beans with 6 cup water. Boil for 2 minutes.
3. Take off from heat. Keep aside for 1 hour.
4. Simmer the beans for about 2 hours in the same water. Add more water if required.
5. In another vessel simmer ham in water covering it.
6. Skim the scum from broth.
7. Add beans and mix.
8. Add remaining ingredients and simmer the potatoes for about 20 minutes.

SERVING
9. Serve hot.
