Bayou Shrimp And Oysters Recipe

Ingredients
3/4 cup defatted low sodium chicken broth
1 medium onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 medium tomatoes, seeded and chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh basil or 1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon reduced sodium Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
8 ounces shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 ounces shucked oysters, drained
2 tablespoons water
4 teaspoons cornstarch
3 cups hot cooked brown rice
Directions
In a large saucepan, stir together the broth, onions, celery, tomatoes, garlic, basil, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat.
Cover and simmer about 10 minutes or until the vegeta bles are tender.
Stir in the shrimp and oysters.
Cook, uncovered, over low heat for about 4 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and the oysters are opaque.
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together the water and cornstarch.
Then stir into the shrimp mixture.
Cook and stir over low heat until the mixture thickens and begins to gendy boil.
Cook and stir for 2 minutes more.
Serve the shrimp mixture over the rice.
