Bavarian Pot Roast Recipe
I am in love with this Bavarian Pot Roast recipe as it brings such rave comments everytime I make it. Beef is the key ingredient in Bavarian Pot Roast. I prefer to make Bavarian Pot Roast as a Side Dish for all my family get-togethers. Trust me, once you taste this Bavarian Pot Roast you are bound to prepare it again!
Ingredients
3 to 4 lb. beef arm pot roast
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
3 whole cloves
4 medium apples, cored and quartered
1 small onion, sliced
1/2 cup apple juice or water
3 to 4 tablespoons flour
3 to 4 tablespoons water
Directions
Wipe roast well and trim off all excess fat.
Lightly rub top of meat with oil.
Dust with salt, pepper and ginger.
Insert cloves in roast.
Place apples and onions in crock pot and top with roast (cut roast in half, if necessary, to fit easily).
Pour in apple juice.
Cover and cook on low setting for 10 to 12 hours.
Remove roast and apples to warm platter.
Turn crock pot to high setting.
Make a smooth paste of the flour and water; stir into crock pot.
Cover and cook until thickened.
