Bavarian Pot Roast Recipe
This is a lip smacking Bavarian Pot Roast recipe which will knockout anyone who eats it. Excuse my excitement. There is not a single month when I don't serve this yummy Main Dish! Whenever I have German friends visiting I always prepare Bavarian Pot Roast which is most loved by them. The Bavarian Pot Roast is made with Beef which is easily available at any grocery store. Ingredients
Chuck roast - 1 5-lb
Cinnamon - 1 tbsp
Vinegar - 1 tbsp
Ginger - 2 tsp
Med. Onion - 1, chopped
Bay leaf - 1
Salt - 1 1/2 tsp
Apple juice - 1 1/2 cup
Tomato sauce - 1 8-oz. can
Flour - 1/4 cup
Mushrooms - ΒΌ cup, sliced
Directions
MAKING
1. Brown roast on all sides in oil in Dutch oven.
2. Combine cinnamon, vinegar, ginger and salt; add 1 cup water, apple juice, tomato sauce, onion and bay leaf.
3. Place roast in Dutch oven; pour tomato sauce mixture over top. Simmer, covered, for 3 hours or until tender. Remove bay leaf.
4. Combine flour and 1/2 cup water to make paste. Add to tomato mixture gradually, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add mushrooms to gravy.
SERVING
5. Slice the roast and serve with the sauce on top.
