Ingredients

 Veal shanks - 4 (5-ounce)
 Vegetable cooking spray
 Light beer - 3/4 cup
 Water1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Beef-flavored bouillon granules - 1 teaspoon
 Prepared horseradish1 Teaspoon
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
 Pepper1/8 Teaspoon
 Onion1 Large, sliced
 Bay leaf1

Directions

GETTING READY
1) Remove any excess fat from shanks.

MAKING
2) Take a large skillet and coat it with cooking spray; place over medium-high heat until hot.
3) Add shanks; cook 3 minutes on each side or until browned.
4) Drain the shanks and place them in a 3-quart casserole.
5) Add the remaining ingredients.
6) Cover the casserole and bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
7) Remove and discard bay leaf before serving.

SERVING
8) Serve the veal shanks warm with creamy salad.
