Basic Sweet Dough Recipe
I got to try out this Basic Sweet Dough at my friend's place. My GOD, It was simply mind blowing! You have already been deprived of this Basic Sweet Dough recipe, don't miss it now.
Ingredients
2 cups warm milk
2 tablespoons dry yeast
1/2 cup unrefined safflower oil
2/3 cup raw honey
2 teaspoons sea salt
3 beaten eggs
Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
8 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, mace, or cardamom
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts, raisins, citron, dates, etc., if desired
Directions
Sprinkle yeast into milk.
Stir until yeast is dissolved.
Add oil, honey, salt, eggs, and grated rind and lemon juice.
Stir well.
Stir in flour and spice.
Dough should be softer than for loaf bread.
Place the dough on a lightly floured board and knead.
Put in an oiled bowl.
Turn to oil the surface.
Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in bulk.
Punch down.
Shape into coffee cakes, cinnamon rolls, tea rings, twists, braids, etc.
Brush with butter.
Let rise until almost doubled.
Bake in 350° oven.
Bake some now, freeze some for company.
Wrap shaped breads, cakes, or rolls in freezer wrap and freeze.
