Basic Rice Recipe
The taste of this Basic Rice has played on my mind so much that I seldom go for any another recipe of Basic Rice. I prepare this yum Basic Rice as a Main Dish every month or even more often. How long will you resist your temptation for Basic Rice ? Just go ahead and try it out now.
Ingredients
1 cup uncooked brown rice, rinsed and drained
1 3/4 cups fat-free chicken broth/vegetable stock/water
Directions
Bring liquid of choice to a boil over high heat in a heavy saucepan.
Add rice, cover, and reduce heat to low setting so rice bubbles gently.
Cook for 50 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
If desired, uncover and let rice dry out 3-5 minutes before serving.
Fluff with a fork.
OR,
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Heat liquid of choice to boiling point.
In medium casserole, combine rice and hot liquid.
Cover and bake for 50-60 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
