Basic Pork Casserole Recipe
Basic Pork Casserole is a love by many. The combination of pork flavored with chicken bouillon cube and white pepper makes the Basic pork casserole a delicious and filling recipe.
Ingredients
1 1/2 lb lean stewing pork
1 onion, sliced
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
4 tablespoons flour
2 1/2 cups water
1 chicken bouillon cube
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
Directions
Remove fat from pork and cut pork into 1 inch cubes.
Gently saute sliced onion in heated fat in a heavy pan until soft and golden.
Add pork and fry until golden brown on all sides, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle flour over pork, stir and cook gently for 1 minute until roux is golden.
Add water, bouillon cube, salt and pepper and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally to loosen sediment on bottom of pan.
Add ingredients according to choice as directed in 'Variations'.Transfer to a casserole, cover with a tight-fitting lid and cook in a moderately slow oven for 1-1 1/2 hours, or until pork is tender.
