Basic Hot Bacon Dressing Recipe
This Basic Hot Bacon Dressing recipe is one of the gems from my family cookbook. Even though Basic Hot Bacon Dressing is a Side Dish I relish it any time of the day. Do let me know how you've liked my Basic Hot Bacon Dressing. Feedback keeps me mobilized and motivates me to try out novel ways.
Ingredients
4 slices lean bacon
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard (optional)
1/4 teaspoon dill weed (optional)
3/4 cup chopped green onions and tops (optional)
1 hard-cooked egg, chopped (optional)
1 1/2 quarts torn or shredded iceberg lettuce
Directions
Fry bacon crisp.
Remove bacon from pan; drain on paper towel reserving fat.
Combine remaining ingredients except lettuce; add to fat in skillet.
Bring to a boil.
Toss hot mixture with lettuce and crumbled bacon.
NOTE:
Serve at once.
For creamy dressing, add 1/4 cup cream to above recipe.
