Basic Whole Wheat Pasta Recipe

Basic Whole Wheat Pasta is a nice change from the ordinary pastas. I highly recommend this Basic Whole Wheat Pasta recipe. You should make it at least once!

Ingredients

 
2 cups whole wheat flour
 
1 egg, beaten
 
1/3-1/2 cup warm water

Directions

Place the flour in a medium-size bowl.
Add the egg and just enough of the water to make a very firm dough.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured board for about 20 minutes or until it is very smooth and elastic.
Divide the dough into quarters and roll out one quarter of the dough to a thickness of about 1/16 inch or as thin as possible on the lightly floured board.
Keep the remaining dough well wrapped to prevent drying out.
Dust the rolled-out dough lightly with flour, then roll up jelly-roll style and cut noodles to desired width.
Unroll and cut to desired length.
