Directions

Place the ingredients in a 1 pint jar, cover tightly, and shake well to mix.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.
Use for making cream sauces and gravies as directed below.
To Make Thin White Sauce or Gravy In a small heavy saucepan, blend 1/4 cup Basic White Sauce Mix with 1 cup water, low sodium chicken broth, or low sodium beef broth.
Set over moderate heat and bring to a simmer, whisking constantly.
Cook, uncovered, stirring often, until the sauce thickens about 3 minutes.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Do not allow the sauce to boil or it may curdle.
To Make Medium White Sauce or Gravy Use 1/3 cup Basic White Sauce Mix and 1 cup water, low sodium chicken broth, or low sodium beef broth.
